IT Unit Proprietors in Goa Welcome the Creation of Co-Working Spaces Close to the Beaches

The Budget 2024-25 has received positive feedback from the state’s industry leaders. They appreciated the absence of new taxes and the proposed establishment of an agro food park and transportation hub. Unit owners believe that the budget’s focus on infrastructure is achievable due to central support and the presence of a “double-engine government.” The GCCI expressed its approval of the budget for incorporating most of their suggestions.

According to GCCI president Shrinivas Dempo, the allocation of Rs 10 crore will go towards implementing new data analytics software. This software will efficiently distribute central government grants and disbursements to those in need, optimizing funding for social security schemes. The formation of a dedicated cell will ensure that ineligible beneficiaries are identified and removed from the system. Additionally, this software can be used for analyzing power consumption to reduce costs statewide. The industry body believes that digitizing processes such as house tax, trade tax collection, and issuing certificates will improve the ease of doing business. This move towards paperless workflows is seen as a positive step.

The GCCI believes that increasing fees for commercial establishments, land revenue, conversion, and TCP department fees would contradict the government’s goal of not burdening the common man. However the proposed increase in land conversion fees is expected to have a negative impact on builders in the state.

CREDAI-Goa president Rajesh Shet stated the real property consultant body might choose to watch for the quality print of the price range before commenting on it. “The nation price range has ticked all of the proper containers for boosting competitiveness, growth, sustainability and promoting reforms at the national stage” said CII-Goa chairman Anirudh Agrawal. IT unit proprietors have additionally welcomed the concept to create co-working spaces close to the beaches in Goa.
